The goal of computer vision is to make computers see the world around them. It has made incredible progress in the past decade. With the explosion of images and video on the web, dealing with the large amount of unorganized visual data available has become immensely challenging. Large search engines are being created to make sense out of this data. The Internet has become an increasingly important tool for computer vision research. Computer vision has risen to prominence in the era of Industry 4.0, transforming several areas of the industrial process with its intelligent automation solutions. Video analytics which applies machine-learning algorithms to video feeds, allowing cameras to recognise people, objects, and situations automatically is used in IoT applications.

The Eighth International Symposium on Computer Vision and the Internet (VisionNet'22) aims to bring together leading researchers to take stock of the state of the art, identify key challenges, and propose new directions. VisionNet'22 is co-affiliated with the International Conference on Connected Systems & Intelligence (CSI'22), August 31, September 1-2, 2022, Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The Symposium is technically supported by ACM Trivandrum Professional Chapter. The CSI'22 is organised by the Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology (KUDSIT). CSI'22 is approved by IEEE and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS) and technically supported by the IEEE SMCS Technical Committee on Soft Computing and ACM Trivandrum Professional Chapter.
